A good bowl is not about more food. It is about the right balance of protein, fibre and moisture, served at a portion your dog can actually use.
Start with the protein
Protein is the part of the bowl your dog builds muscle from, so it should lead. Look for a named source at the top of the ingredient list — chicken, beef, salmon — not a vague meal or by-product blend.
Around half the bowl is a sensible starting point for an active adult dog. Older or less active dogs need less, and puppies need more spread across more meals.
Then add fibre and moisture
Fibre keeps digestion regular and stools firm. Vegetables, a spoon of pumpkin or a scoop of our Crunch mix all do the job. Moisture matters just as much: dry food alone leaves most dogs slightly under-hydrated, so a splash of broth goes a long way.
